3Draft reply

This is a starting draft, not legal advice. Check every figure against the notice and your return, attach the evidence it lists, and submit through the portal named in the notice (e-Proceedings / Pending Actions on the income-tax portal, or the GST portal's Additional Notices and Orders). Edits you make in the box are kept until you change the notice type or details.

This tool is for understanding and preparation only. Results are estimates based on the assumptions shown. File on the official channels.

Before you reply

  • Read the notice for the deadline and where to reply. Most income-tax intimations are answered on the e-filing portal under Pending Actions, not by letter.
  • Compare the notice with your AIS, 26AS and Form 16. Many 143(1) mismatches come from duplicate or wrongly reported entries in AIS, which you can also give feedback on in AIS.
  • For 139(9), the fix is a corrected return filed in response to the notice; the letter only explains it.
  • For ASMT-10, attach an invoice-wise reconciliation. Use the GSTR-2B reconciliation tool to build one.

These drafts are a starting point. For large amounts or anything beyond a simple mismatch, ask a chartered accountant or tax practitioner.
