How we verify

Tax rules change every year, and small errors cost real money. These are the rules we hold ourselves to.

  1. No facts from memory. A rate, slab, threshold, due date, form name or section number is published only after it has been read from an official source (the Act, Rules, a notification, circular or the authority's own site). The page links that source.
  2. Every page is dated. The "Last verified" badge shows when the sources were last checked. Pages older than four months show "May be out of date" automatically until re-checked.
  3. Status badges are honest. Verified means sources and a date exist and the build checked that. Needs review means we are not yet sure and you should treat the page as a pointer, not an answer. Draft is unfinished.
  4. Calculators show their working. Each tool lists its assumptions and the data table (with its source) that drives it. Yearly data lives in versioned files so old years stay reproducible.
  5. Corrections are public. Mistakes we find or you report are fixed and noted on the corrections page.
  6. The build enforces it. A page cannot be marked verified without a source and a date; the site fails to build otherwise.
